The smell of the sweet salty sea always draws Sasvel in. It’s his own true love, through and through. He’s a sailor, fisherman, and cartographer who loves sunsets, sunrises, traveling, swimming and music. His life literally revolves around the sea. When he isn’t on his boat, he feels a deep longing for the sea and it’s many mysteries. He is very crafty, and uses his skills as an income when needed. He is a storm chaser and enjoys taking photos of the storms and often sells the photos for money. He occasionally will fish and sell them as well at the market.

 

Despite the fact that he loves the sea, it can be extremely lonely. Most of the time Sasvel enjoys the ultimate solitude that it brings. Reading books and building ships in bottles usually brings him back to focus and relaxation though. However, on occasion, he does allow his very close friends on his boat. He’s taken them out on a few fishing trips, and a few long trips across the world. But when it comes down to it, he just prefers to be alone with his thoughts.

He has a deep appreciation for the sea- he believes the sea is a perfect example of mother nature. He sees her as strong and beautiful, but also wild and dangerous. He respects mother nature, though he doesn’t really talk about it much. Every time he eats fish, he thanks mother nature for her gift. Though she’s not always been so giving. He’s often went days without food, having to make due with small fish and crabs that would either wash up on shores or that he was keeping as bait.

 

Hatred in his heart is something that many are aware of. He hates the complete lack of compassion towards marine life, as well as consumerism. He thinks the world is so “caught up” in their own selfish lives to help others. This is probably the main reason he likes to be alone, out on the open sea. It helps him forget about society and it’s devilish ways.
